David O. Krohe, 65, of Vermont, formerly of Beardstown, died at 6:55 a.m. May 17, 2010, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home South in Beardstown.David O. Krohe, 65, of Vermont, formerly of Beardstown, died at 6:55 a.m. May 17, 2010, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home South in Beardstown.
He was born Jan. 6, 1945, in Beardstown, a son of Oliver and Jewel “Bettie” Krohe. He married Lona Umphryes on Aug. 14, 1965. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Diana (and Roger) Hiebert of Shawnee, Kan., Debra (and Dan) Meyer of Caseyville and Tina (and Tim) Buchanan of Maeystown; one adopted daughter, Chelsea Cooley of Rushville; his mother of Beardstown; three brothers, Myles and Allen Krohe, both of Beardstown and Ken Krohe of Keller, Texas; five sisters, Janet Spears, Audrey Perry, Ann Bell and Carol Wubker, all of Beardstown and Dorothy Puckel of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; and one daughter, Pamela Krohe.
He graduated from Beardstown High School with the Class of 1963 and worked over 20 years for Bluff Springs Elevator.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Beardstown Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Astoria. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the church. Hendricker Funeral Home in Mount Sterling is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Pamela J. Krohe Scholarship Fund at Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Okla., or Rushville Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.
