Lola KennedyLola Jean Sims Kennedy, 50, of Rushville died at 3:30 a.m. Feb. 23, 2007, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

She was born Nov. 17, 1956, in Rushville, the daughter of Glen W. and Betty Toumbs Sims. She married John J. Kennedy on Jan. 31, 1993, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are her parents of Mount Sterling; and one brother, Wayne (and Penny) Sims of Versailles.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Glen and Lola Sims and Fred and Ellen Toumbs.

She graduated from Brown County High School in 1974, then went on to earn her food service certification.

She was a member of Maqom Church of God Restored in Macomb.

She worked at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville and Meyer’s Nursing Home and Excellent Casing in Beardstown, and managed the Snack Bar at Moreland & Devitt Drug Store, Rushville.

Services were held Monday at Baylis Cemetery with Rev. Bob Camp officiating. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
