Louella Knous

Louella C. Knous, 78, of Beardstown died Saturday, May 13, 2000, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 8, 1921, in Sheldons Grove, a daughter of James Ezekiel and Margaret Caroline Irvin Bishop. She married Ernest A. Knous on Jan. 4, 1939, in Palmyra, Mo. He died May 6, 2000.

Six brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, William "Bill" (and Carol) and Joshua "Jim" (and Marcia), both of Beardstown; one daughter, Fannie (and Alfred) Weishaar of Beardstown; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold (and Zelda) Bishop of Lockport; and three sisters, Mary Jane Pate of Beardstown, Edna Kirkham of Rushville and Joan (and Edgar) Kirkham of Fort Myers, Fla.

She was a cab driver for 30 years, working for several cab companies in the Beardstown area. From 1951 to 1952, she owned and operated a cab company in Petersburg.

Services were held Tuesday at First Christian Church in Beards--town with Mike Courson officiating. Burial was in Beardstown City Cemetery. Sager Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Cass/Schuyler Area Hospice or to the Frederick Christian Church Building Fund.
