Ernest L. Kreps Of Bushnell Dies

Ernest L. Kreps, 76, of Bushnell, died at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 1990, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Feb. 7, 1913, in Harris Township, Fulton County, the son of Lee and Callie (Barnes) Kreps. He married Mildred Hillyer on Feb. 23, 1935 in Macomb. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Lyle Kreps of Des Moines, Iowa; four daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Lucille) Elrick of Sutherland, Iowa, Mrs. Tom (Opal) Davies of Waukegan, Mrs. Dwight (Gloria) Heaton of Vermont, and Mrs. Donald (Joyce) Christian of Canton; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Belva) Rhodes and Mrs. Leo (Helen) Cox, both of Bushnell, and Mrs. Ula Bryan of Rockford.

One daughter, Shirley Caspall, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.

He was a farmer in the Bardolph area for many years, moving to Bushnell when he retired 10 years ago. He was a member of the Bardolph United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at his church with Rev. Dan Wakefield and Rev. Mary Jo Williams officiating. Burial was in the Bushnell Cemetery. Martin-Hollis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to his church or the Bushnell Rescue Squad.
