Ralph E. Kessler Dies In Hospital

Ralph Edward Kessler, 87, of Vermont, died at 9:15 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 1980, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

Born Dec. 31, 1892, in Astoria, a son of Charles and Anna Burkholder Kessler, he married Erma Hettrick. She preceded him in death. He married Elsie Cripe in Palmyra, Mo., on Aug. 12, 1942.

He was a retired farmer and a member of United Methodist Church of Vermont. He had resided at the Astoria Care Center the past few years.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, DeWayne of Blandinsville and Loydleroy of Table Grove; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Elsie Haskins of Macomb and Mrs. Sylvia Twaddle of Colchester; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

One brother and one sister also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Rev. Howard E. Keim officiating. Burial will be in Mud Valley Cemetery, near Astoria.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at the Memorial Home.
