Greta Kirchner Retired Teacher Dies At Age 75

Mrs. Greta Kirchner, 75, of 222 N. Broadway, Havana, died at 1:44 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 1980, at Memorial Medical Center at Springfield.

She was born June 17, 1904, in Cass County, a daughter of Thomas and Cora (Wyatt) Nollsch, and was married June 17, 1928, to Dr. J. L. Kirchner, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Evan (Marilyn) Britton, Jr. of Springfield; three sons, Robert L. of Morton, and Alan E. and Charles E., both of Springfield; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and one sister, Mrs. Edward (Pauline) Kolves of Havana.

Mrs. Kirchner had taught school in Fulton, Cass and Mason Counties. She was a former Astoria Grade School teacher, retiring from here in 1972.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Havana, had taught in the Sunday school for more than 50 years and had served as Sunday school superintendent. She also was a member of various organizations and had served as chairman of the Mason County March of Dimes. She was a former member of the Fulton County ADK.

Funeral services were held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening in the First United Methodist Church in Havana with Rev. Dale Kooi officiating. Burial was in the Chandlerville Cemetery.
