VeteranFrank P. Kays Dies In Chicago

Attorney Frank P. Kays, who practiced law for more than 45 years on LaSalle Street in Chicago, died of a heart attack on Mar. 21, 1977, in Northwest Hospital in Chicago. He was 71 years of age.

A native of Fulton County, Ill., he attended Heading College and the University of Illinois. He received his LLB degree from Chicago’s Kent College of Law.

He was admitted to the Bar in 1931. He was a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association and Chicago Bar Association. He had served on a number of professional committees.

During World War II he served as a U.S. Navy officer on the Atlantic convoys as well as a legal officer in the Judge Advocate General Court. He was a life member of the disabled American Veterans organization.

Mr. Kays was an active member of the Masonic Lodge No. 100 AF & AM of Astoria and the Medinah Temple of Chicago Scottish Rites.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Wray Kays of Chicago; one sister, Marie Kays Payne of Dixon; four daughters, Florence Hurter of Chicago, Diana Dunn of Orange, Calif., Marilyn Krawlec of Chicago, and Virginia Creesy of Princeton, N.J.; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Lain Funeral Home, 1035 N. Dearborn, Chicago on Wednesday, Mar. 23, from 4 to 8 p.m. On Thursday afternoon, Mar. 24, at 3 p.m., where will be graveside Masonic services at the Astoria Cemetery.
