Luther P. Kron, a senior of Augustana college, Rock Island and a son of Rev. Kron of Galva, was shot and almost instantly killed by a member of the Galesburg police force early Saturday morning when Kron refused to halt when accosted by police dressed in plain clothes who were patrolling a part of the city where a number of robberies have been committed lately. The young man was on his way to Decatur to attend the Augustana-Millikin football game and had spent the evening with friends in the city. He was on his way to the depot when the accident happened.
