MAXINE LOUISE (GRATE) JACKSON

Maxine JacksonMaxine Louise Jackson, 98, of Rushville died at 4:55 p.m. Aug. 1, 2014, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born Feb. 20, 1916, in Burnside, a daughter of Leonard and Hazel Browning Grate. She married Francis W. “Jack” Jackson on March 16, 1936, in Carthage. He preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 2003.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Ufen; one brother, Joseph Grate; and one sister, Mildred Grate.

Surviving are one daughter, Shirley (and Andrew “Ace”) Thrash of Rushville; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and five step great-great-grandchilden.

She worked at Mi-Deare Shop, Beardstown Mills and Bob Hardwick Construction Co. She also was a licensed real estate agent.

She was a member of Rushville First United Methodist Church.

Services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Grant Armstrong officiating. Burial was in Beardstown City Cemetery.
