Frank William Jones Sr., 69, of Iola, formerly of Rushville and Pekin, died at 1:45 a.m. May 29, 2010, at Doctor’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem.

He was born Jan. 8, 1941, in Huntsville, a son of Emery and June DeWitt Jones. He married Judy Shepherd in May of 1959 and later married Dana Greene on Dec. 19, 1972, in Galesburg. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Frank William Jones Jr. (and Melinda) of Canton, Jeff Jones of Iola and Chad (and Tamara) Jones of Creve Coeur; two daughters, Christal (and Rick) Buehnerkemper of Davenport, Iowa, and Tammy Logan of Iola; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Connie Small and Pat Wampler; one son, Rick Jones; and one brother, Charles Richard Jones.

He attended school in Corpus Christi and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1959.

He was an Army veteran serving from February 1961 to April 1965 in Vietnam with the 58th Battalion.

He was a machinist last working for Armature Motors and Press in Eureka, until retiring in 1999.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Camden West Cemetery with Rev. Freida Raland officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by a U.S. Army Military Honors Detail and Schuyler American Legion Post #4. Inurnment will follow. Worthington Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
