Ethel Jones

Ethel C. Jones, 87, of Canton, formerly of Lewistown, died Sept. 25, 2006, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born Aug. 9, 1919, in St. Louis, Mo., a daughter of Edward F. and Ethel M. Roady Boker. She married Thomas J. Jones on Oct. 5, 1941, in Brighton. He died Nov. 14, 1993.

She also was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Surviving are two sons, Todd (and Rochelle) of Lewistown and Mike (and Rhonda) of Carlinville; two daughters, Ruth (and Tom) Metzger of Brighton and Helen Park and friend David Leonard of Kewanee; three sisters, Ruth Kettler of Cahokia, Vivian Marek of Kirkwood, Mo., and Clarann (and John) Smith of Topeka, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Lewistown Church of the Nazarene.

She had worked at Bemis Bag Co. in St. Louis, and at the Brighton Locker in Brighton.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at her church with Pastor Randy Munson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Brighton Cemetery. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.
