Thelma C. Jones, 93, of Virden, died at 1:25 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at Virden Nursing Center.
She was born March 26, 1905, in Murrayville, a daughter of Alfred and Mary E. Carlson Bracewell. She married Howard C. Jones on Feb. 25, 1922, in Grand Forks, N.D. He died on June 15, 1972.
Also preceding her in death were one son, Ralph Jones; one daughter, Frances Welker; two grandsons, Jim Stanley and Trevor Jones; one great-grandson, Jamie Hickle; two brothers, Clarence and Ralph Bracewell; and one sister, Aletha Olson.
Surviving are two sons, Richard L. Jones of Bismarck, Mo., and Homer C. Jones of Indianapolis, Ind.; one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Betty) Stanley of Virden; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Marjorie Anderson of Moline; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Virden.
Services were held Tuesday at Calvert and Ferry Funeral Home in Virden. Burial was in Murrayville Cemetery in Murrayville.
Mrs. Jones was a grandmother of Bonnie White and Kathy Hickle of Astoria, Phyllis Aten of Creve Coeur and Kerry Welker of Albuquerque, N.M.
