Astoria Resident Dies At Macomb Hospital

Enoch B. Johnson, 86, an Astoria resident since 1917, died at St. Francis hospital in Macomb early Monday morning. He had been a patient there for the past five days.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with the Rev. Lee Carter Maynard officiating. Burial was in the South Fulton cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born March 1, 1874, near Effingham, to William and Emily Turner Johnson. In December of 1900 he married Leona Rice, who died June 17, 1957.

Mr. Johnson was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the Christian church.

Surviving are: two children, Mrs. Nettye Gain of Macomb, and Ralph Johnson of Estes Park, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. Flora Catlin of Ipava, Mrs. Bert Stanley of Donaphin, Mo., and Mrs. Rose Sanley of Worth, Ill.; two brothers, Harvey of Donaphin, Mo., and Roy of near Danville, Ill.; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

One daughter, two sisters and two brothers died previously.
