She was born Dec. 2, 1938, in Macomb, a daughter of William Earl and Ella Whited Nally. She married Velvis Levon Washburn in March of 1957. He preceded her in death. She later married David Hays on May 28, 1982, in Rushville. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Linda Diane Clarke (and Ron) Tinnon of Hanna City, Kimberly Fagan of Rushville and Mary (and Cameron) Turner of Jacksonville; two sons, David (and Candice) Hays Jr. of Jacksonville and Jason (and Heather) Hays of Ashland; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She worked at various nursing homes, retiring in 1982 from Myers Nursing Home in Beardstown. She was a member of Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Shepherd of Coast Missouri Synod Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor John Laux officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery.
