She was born March 26, 1920, in Vincennes Township, Knox County, Ind., a daughter of Henry A. F. and Cora M. Thorn Meyer. She married Rev. Harold E. Hedden on Aug. 20, 1944, in Heltonville, Ind. He preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 2009.
She also was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Joseph Marcelak; two brothers, David Meyer and Bob Meyer; and one sister, Laura Butler.
Surviving are one son, Richard (and Susan) Hedden of Indianapolis, Ind.; two daughters, Norma Werkheiser of Kewanee and Nancy (and Dennis) Rebman of Rushville; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She belonged to the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, DAR and the Audubon Society. She was involved with the committee that started Mobile Meals in Rushville and served as treasurer. She served alongside her husband Harold in the ministry for 39 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rushville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Stacy Tomich officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
