James Eldon Hopping Sr., 83, of Nokomis died June 16, 2021, at his home.James Eldon Hopping Sr., 83, of Nokomis died June 16, 2021, at his home.
He was born June 14, 1938, in Vermont, a son of Jerry and Ruth Pedigo Hopping.
Surviving are four children, James (and Christine) Hopping of Nokomis, Lisa (and Glenn) Pettet of Oakford, Jennie (and companion Randy Izzard) Curtis of Kilbourne and Susan Hopping of Petersburg; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary, Marge and Paula Jean; and three brothers, Paul, Jerry and Doyle Hopping.
He was self-employed.
Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
