Kenneth "Howie" HowellKenneth Wayne “Howie” Howell, 52, of Browning, formerly of Vermont, died at 11:53 a.m. suddenly from a heart attack on April 21, 2021, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born March 30, 1969, in Canton, a son of Robert A. Howell and Delores Rueger-Howell. He married Cheryl Jones on April 26, 1997, in Macomb. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Emme Howell and Addi Howell, both of Browning; his mother, Delores Howell Miles; his stepfather, Jim Miles of Ipava; one brother, David Howell of Ipava; one sister, Jaime (and Kevin) Duane of Davenport, Iowa; three nieces; Elizabeth Howell (Terry) of Kilbourne and Katie and Sydney Duane; one great-nephew; one great-niece; one uncle, Danny Rueger of Aurora; one aunt, Peg Hartnady of Missouri; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; and one half-brother, Greg Howell.

He graduated from VIT High School in Table Grove, class of 1987. He was an honor student and friend to all of his classmates. He worked on cars, motorcycles, etc. He has lived in Browning since 1997. He worked at Woodrum Automotive of Macomb, where he had been a Master Toyota technician for over 30 years.

He played guitar and sang in several area bands including Hogwild, Original Sequoia Drive, (the band he named) and Area 136.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements. There will be a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, 4-6 p.m.; (4-5 p.m. meet and greet, 5-6 p.m. service) at Berean Christian Church, 10750 County Road 2, Ipava, IL 61441. Donations may be made there, or mailed to Delores Miles, PO Box 62, Ipava, IL 61441. The proceeds will be split between his daughters.
