She was born July 18, 1941, in Mount Sterling, a daughter of John and Bertha Ebbing McHatton. She married John “Jack” Hibbs in 1976 in Mount Sterling. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1997.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Timothy McHatton; two grandsons, Joshua Perry and Christopher Perry; three brothers, Joe, Bill and Charlie; and five sisters, Norma, Marjorie, Alice, Mary and her twin Julie.
Surviving are four children, Belinda Robson of Jacksonville, Mary Sebers of Rochelle, Bobby (and Theisa) Hibbs of Rushville and Michelle (and Scott) Shults of Industry; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Brown County High School in the class of 1959.
In 1988, she began working as a CNA at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville, retiring in 2016.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Larry DeSha officiating. Burial will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home.
