She was born Nov. 22, 1934, in Lincoln, a daughter of Samuel and Louise Dorris Anderson. She married Robert “Bob” Hopping on June 16, 1957, in Springfield. He survives.
Also surviving are two children, Mark (and Lori) Hopping of Carlinville and Carol (and Jim) Hopping-Smith of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Beverly Carder of Naples, Fla.; one brother, James (and Lou Ellen) Anderson of Litchfield; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Ellis.
She worked many years in sales at Provident Book Store in Bloomington.
She was a member of Eastview Christian Church in Bloomington for over 55 years.
Memorials may be made to her church or Advocate BroMenn Medical Center.
There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Cemetery in Chatham with Pastor Mike Wenneborg officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Calvert and Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington.
