He was born Dec. 4, 1937, in Rushville, a son of Jesse A. “Fred” and Edith Susan Long Henninger. He married Sherry Poppenhager on Dec. 20, 1959, in Astoria. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Douglas (and Kara) Henninger and Dennis Henninger, both of Rushville; one daughter, Susan (and Jamie) Ashcraft of Rushville; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Patsy Lynn; and three brothers, John, James and Andrew Henninger.
He was a rural mail carrier for 37 years and a life-time farmer.
He was a member of Rushville First United Methodist Church.
Memorial services were held Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Randy McGeehon and Mr. David Haney officiating.
