She was born April 4, 1921, in Frederick, a daughter of Oren J. and Lena L. Pritchett Smedley. She married John Milton Haber on May 14, 1938, in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1998. On Jan. 26, 2001, she married Edward A. Rakovsky in Englewood, Fla. He also preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Louise Haber; and one sister, Dorothy Virginia Thompson.
Surviving are four children, Carol Ann (and John) Boyd of Venice, Fla., Cynthia May (and Jon) Mummert of Astoria, Cathy Sue (and William) Redshaw of Rushville and John Paul Haber of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Rushville First United Methodist Church. She also was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Rushville Order of Eastern Star.
Funeral services will held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with David Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
