Leslie HickmanLeslie Wayne Hickman, 69, of Rushville died at 1 a.m. Jan. 28, 2017, at Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Feb. 4, 1947, in Rushville, a son of Wayne Henry and Ethel May Yates Hickman.

Surviving are one son, Daniel Wayne (and Amy) Hickman of Plattsmouth, Neb.; two daughters, Cathy (and Daniel) LaSanska of Petersburg and Kimberly (and Matt) Hickman-Hanner of Chatham; two sisters, Wanda Brown of Vermont and Mildred Trimmer of Astoria; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two infant brothers; two infant sisters; and one nephew, Mark Derry.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

He worked at Bartlow Brothers Meat Packing in Rushville and Oscar Mayer Company in Beardstown, before retiring due to ill health.

He attended First Southern Baptist Church and was a member of Schuyler American Legion Post #4 until his health failed.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Stephen Bounds officiating. Burial was in Palm Cemetery with Military Honors by Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and a U.S. Army Honors Detail.
