He is a son of Dale Hamm and Berenice “Wainio” Oest. He married Pamela (Nelson) Hamm. She survives.
Also surviving are five children (one stepson), Corbet Hamm, Caroly (Hamm) Cheras, Crystal (Hamm) Fair-Judson, Christopher Hamm and Daniel Nelson; one brother, Ronald Hamm of Peoria; one sister, Marilyn Ford of Canton; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Caroline “Sue” Tarvin.
He worked for River City Construction, Peoria County Concrete, Hamm’s Construction, Heine Construction and Lahood Construction. He was the owner/operator of Hamm’s Tavern at Anderson Lake.
A celebration of life will be held from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Hamm’s Tavern.
