Robert Herche

Robert Neal Herche, 60, of Rushville died at 12:10 a.m. Nov. 5, 2013, at his residence.

He was born July 24, 1953, in Rushville, a son of Cecil Wayne and Beverly Burns Herche. He married Linda J. Stolp on Sept. 12, 1982, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are his step-mother, Dorcas Corman Herche of Rushville; one son, Russell “Rusty” Herche of Rushville; one daughter, Margaret “Maggie” Herche of Rushville; one sister, Ann Herche (and Neil Benowitz) of Savanna, Ga.; and one stepsister, Sarah Rust of Rushville.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Herche, who passed away Aug. 7, 2013.

He graduated from Peoria Richwoods High School in 1971 and received his associate degree in agricultural science from Illinois Central College in Peoria. While in high school and college he worked at Heart of Illinois fairgrounds in Peoria.

He was a Schuyler County farmer and worked as a feed specialist at Two Rivers F.S. in Rushville. He coached Rushville Little League many years.

He currently served on South Fulton Water District Board; and was a former member of University of Illinois Cooperative Extension Board and Schuyler County Farm Bureau.

Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
