Dale E. Haben, 62, of Oswego died Sept. 23, 2011, at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.
He was born May 17, 1949, in Monmouth, the son of John H. and Patricia L. Woolley Haben.
Surviving are his wife, Alice (Hasten); one son, Charles (and Heather) Haben of Moline; one sister, Nancy (and Stephen) Altenbern of Colchester; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Nick Haben; and his maternal grandparents, Lessie and Wilbur Woolley.
He was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist of Oswego.
He was an electrical engineer who graduated from IIT in Chicago and had a career at Lucent Technology in the research and development department for 30 years prior to his retirement in 2001.
Services were held Tuesday at Church of the Good Shepherd in Oswego with Rev. Phil Sheets officiating. Inurnment was in Oswego Township Cemetery in Oswego.
