Hendee, 91, of Lewistown died at 9:43 p.m. July 1, 2011, at Graham Hospital Extended Care in Canton where she was a resident for the past five years.
She was born March 19, 1920, in Rolla, Mo., a daughter of Victor and Alma Fergeson Engelage. She married Ralph D. Hendee on Sept. 14, 1945, in St. Louis, Mo. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1998.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are one daughter, JoAnn (and Don) Mason of Lewistown; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She worked as a telephone operator at Cuba until the office was closing, and then at State Hospital in Alton as a dietary worker, and in the office as a clerk typist retiring in 1985.
Graveside services will be held at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton with Reverend Eric Sawyer officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown.
