Doris Hood

Doris HoodDoris Lucille Hood, 85, of Rushville died at 6:45 p.m. March 12, 2011, at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

She was born Nov. 5, 1925, in Macomb, a daughter of Jesse Raymond and Alma Jewel Simpson Lisenbee. She married William Gayle Hood on Aug. 29, 1942, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1988.

She also was preceded in death by one infant son, Larry Joe Hood; one great-great-granddaughter, Ella Blaine Peters; one brother, William Lisenbee; and one sister, Rose Lisenbee.

Surviving are one daughter, Betty Jane Perrine of Rushville; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She worked for Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital, Dr. Rosemary Utter MD and Bartlow Brothers Meat Packing Plant for many years, retiring in 1988.

She was a member of Rushville Free Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Rose Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery.
