James H. Hammond, 72, of Macomb died at 5:03 a.m. April 6, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born Feb. 9, 1936, in Macomb, the son of Everett and Nellie Kirkbride Hammond. He married Janiece Oliver in December of 1954, in Vermont. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Betsy (and Ted) Williamson of Table Grove; one son, Brad Hammond of Astoria; one sister, Virginia Cleer of Macomb; and one grandchild.
He lived in the Table Grove area for many years before moving to Macomb. He worked as a farmer and was the groundskeeper for Pioneer Seed Company in Good Hope.
There will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements.
