Grace Hogon

Grace E. Hogon, 101, of Lewistown died at 6:10 p.m. Nov. 12, 2006, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born July 9, 1905, in rural Fiatt, a daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Wolfery Stuckey. She married Michael Wayne Hogon on June 8, 1927, in Havana. He died Aug. 29, 1984.

She also was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Surviving are one son, Joseph Kearney (and Janet) of Canton; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She graduated from Cuba High School and Western Illinois Teachers College in Macomb. She was a school teacher for many years at various Fulton County schools.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lewistown, Lewistown Book Club and Retired Teachers Association.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Monsignor Robert O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the memorial home.

Memorials may be made to Lunch With Friends at Canton YWCA or her church.
