Harold William Haare, 86, of Morrisonville died at 8:50 a.m. Aug. 14, 2006, at Taylorville Care Center.

He was born Sept. 25, 1919, in Astoria, a son of William and Blanche Frye Haare. He married Ida M. Rittenhouse on March 1, 1946. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Larry (and Terry) of Louisville, Ky.; one brother, Aubrey (and Vivian) of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one son, Richard; and three brothers.

He served in the Army from 1942 to 1946 during World War II in heavy maintenance in New Caledonia and the Philippines.

He farmed his entire life. He was employed by Raymond Implement and Baisley Implement in Morrisonville until his retirement.

He was a member of United Methodist Church in Morrisonville, Leslie Reddick American Legion Post 721, Christian County Farm Bureau and National Rifle Association.

Services will be held Thursday at Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville with Rev. Jim Ferrill officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Morrisonville Cemetery.
