Donald Herriford, 70, of Bernadotte died at 12:13 p.m. July 4, 2006, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 16, 1935, at Bernadotte Township, Fulton County, a son of John and Mary Lola Herriford. He married Dorothy L. Braden on Aug. 16, 1958, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Dick (and Deb) of Chantilly, Va., and Donald Jr. (and Lori) of Magnolia, Texas; two daughters, Anita (and Darrell) Woll of Lewistown and Annette (and Delbert) Brewer of Canton; one brother, Robert (and Muriel) of Springfield; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.

He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956.

He worked at the International Harvester Canton plant for 22 years, then transferred to the Springfield, Ohio, plant. He retired in 1992.

He was a member of Lewistown Church of the Nazarene and the New Horizon Church of the Nazarene at Conroe, Texas.

He also was a member of Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1, Lewistown Historical Society, UAW Retirees and a former coach for Silver Gloves Fulton County Boxing Club.

Cremation was accorded. Services were held Friday at Lewistown Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Randy Munson officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with military rites conducted by the Lewistown VFW and American Legion posts.

Henry-Lange Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Fireworks Committee or Lewistown Church of the Nazarene.
