Twila Hawkins

Twila M. Hawkins, 91, of Industry died at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born May 15, 1914, in Farmers Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Austin and Lucy Parks Reneau. She married Keith E. Hawkins on Jan. 22, 1938, in Keokuk, Iowa. He died Oct. 11, 1991.

She also was preceded in death by five brothers, Wayne, Morris, Marlin, Garland and Wendell Reneau; and three sisters, Mildred Lincoln, Mabel Perrin and Regine Waters.

Surviving is one son, Kenton of Industry.

She attended Shinn's country school and was a 1932 graduate of Table Grove High School.

She worked at the Blue Bill in Abingdon for several years. She farmed with her husband in the Ipava area several years and worked at Mummert Seed House in Astoria. The couple moved to Macomb in 1961 and farmed for 14 years. She worked at Ladies Ready to Wear, K&D, Rings and Hinkles for 23 years. She retired in 1974 and moved to Industry.

She was a member of Ipava Christian Church.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ipava Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to McDonough District Hospital or to her church.
