Richard William Haare, 54, of Morrisonville died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, in his home.

He was born May 2, 1951, in Taylorville, a son of Harold William and Ida Mae Rittenhouse Haare. He married Diane McKinnie on Oct. 10, 1970, in Morrisonville. She survives.

Also surviving are his parents of Morrisonville; one daughter, Marissa (and David) Bockewitz of Morrisonville; one granddaughter; and one brother, Larry (and Terry) of Louisville, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

He was an inventory specialist for In Home Medical in Taylorville.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force and Illinois Air National Guard, where he served from 1971-2000. He was ranked Chief Master Sergeant.

He was on the board of chief counsel for the Air National Guard.

He was member of American Legion Post 721, Taylorville VFW Post 4495, Illinois National Guard Association, American Trapshooters' Association, National Rifle Association, Illinois Rifle Association and Illini Indians Shooters Club.

He also was a member of the United Methodist Church in Morrisonville.

Services were held Aug. 11 at First Presbyterian Church in Morrisonville, with Rev. Jim Ferrill officiating. Burial was in Morrisonville Cemetery. Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorial may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Morrisonville or to the American Cancer Society.
