Lillian L. Harris, 89, of Vermont died at 4:40 p.m. October 25, 2004, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born July 22, 1915, in Puxico, Mo., a daughter of Elijia P. and Mattie B. Arnett Huff. She married Ansil Harris in May 1932 in Puxico, Mo. He died February 16, 1949.

She also is preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Akins; three grandchildren; two brothers, John and Ray Dean Huff; and one sister, Freida Smiley.

Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn (and Dean) Rector of Vermont, and Sharon (and Wayne) Post of Madison, Ohio; three sons, Ardell (and Ruth) of Billings, Mont., Donald (and Eileen) of Lake Havasu, Ariz., and Kent (and Valarie) of Ft. Meyers, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Vermont Christian Church.

Cremation has been accorded and services will be held at a later date. Shawgo Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Astoria Gardens & Rehab Center or Vermont Rescue Squad.

She was born July 22, 1915, a daughter of Elijia P. and Mattie B. Arnett Huff. She married Ansil Harris in May 1932 in Puxico. He died Feb. 16, 1949.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Akins; three grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister.

She was a member of Vermont Christian Church where a memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tim Gilliland officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Astoria Gardens or to the Vermont Rescue Squad.
