Glen E. Hopwood, 87, of Peoria died at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at Bel-Wood Nursing Home.
He was born May 19, 1916, in Peoria, a son of Thomas and Frances Scannell Hopwood. He married Virginia Bowman on Oct. 12, 1963, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are one stepdaughter, Joyce (and Chuck) Adkins of Havana; four sisters, Mary Jennings of Vermont; Bertha Fisher and Betty (and Don) Burdette, both of Peoria, and Lois (and Gerald) Hitt of Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother, Ralph (and Joann) of Peoria; three stepgrandsons; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, two stepsons and one stepgrandson.
He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran, serving in the 4th Division. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3883 in Bartonville.
He was a dock worker for Pabst Brewery for 32 years, retiring in 1977.
He was a member of the Peoria Sportsman's Club, Peoria Casting Club and the Izaak Walton League in Spring Bay.
Services were held Saturday at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel with Rev. Ralph Stanwise officiating. Burial was in Lutheran Cemetery.
