Edward Hill

Edward "Ed" HillEdward "Ed" Eugene Hill, 73, of Beardstown died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown.

He was born June 24, 1930, in Jacksonville, a son of Charles Elmer and Ruth Thies Hill. He married June Landes in April 1949. He later married Bonnie Belville on Oct. 6, 1972, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Larry (and Judy) Hill of Jacksonville; five daughters, Judy (and Earl) Weaver of Quincy, Kathy (and Dennis) Houston of Mount Sterling, Sharon (and Donald) Taylor of Mendon, Linda (and Earl) Cooley of Versailles, and Mary Ann (and Joseph) Rayborn of Mount Sterling; two stepsons, Leon (and Terri) Clark and Mike Logsdon of Beardstown; one stepdaughter, Debbie (and Rich) France of Beardstown; one foster daughter, Kelly Bramer of Texas; one brother, Floyd (and Jeannie) Hill of Picayune, Miss.; three sisters, Donna Viera of Picayune, Mary McCue of La Mirada, Calif., and Ruth "Aileen" Nunes of Granite City; 29 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles; one son-in-law; and two grandchildren.

He had attended school in Jacksonville.

He attended First Southern Baptist Church in Beardstown.

He was a member of the Asbestos Workers Heat and Frost Union Local 17 in Chicago from 1947-1982 and had worked for numerous contractors installing heating and cooling equipment. He also had farmed in Fulton County.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville with Rev. Roger Barnes officiating.
