Devere "Bud" Harwick, 83, of Canton died at 7:45 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at his residence.

He was born May 15, 1919, in Ipava, the son of Floyd and Mabel Pratt Harwick. He married Dulcie J. Morgan on Nov. 7, 1944, in Brisbane, Australia. She died April 6, 1995.

He also was preceded in death by two sisters.

Surviving are one son, Barry (and Tammy) of Canton; one daughter, Sherry (and Rick) Kinzer of Canton; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four step-greatgrandchildren.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the South Pacific for four years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 16, serving as a past commander, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1984 and the 40 et 8.

He was a driver for Ghlee Watson for 26 years and later worked for the Canton Park District, retiring in 1982.

Services were held Friday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Barr officiating. Burial was in White Chapel Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Spoon River Hospice or the American Legion Baseball League.
