JOYCE ELAINE (WOLF) HOKE

Joyce Hoke

Joyce Elaine Hoke, 71, of Canton, died at 7:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 1996, at Heartland Health Care Center.

She was born April 8, 1925, in Canton, a daughter of Roy E. and Ada A. Lehmbeck Wolf. She married Harry J. Hoke on July 1, 1944, in Canton. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Edward R. Hoke of Kewanee; two daughters, Mrs. Hal (Diana) Sitterle of Glenarm and Mrs. Les (Jana) Cleveland of Waukee, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Adadell) Sheathelm of Carlyle and Mrs. Tim (Carolyn) Hungate of rural Pekin; and five grandchildren.

One sister preceded her in death.

She worked at International Harvest, Benner Food Co., National Bank of Canton, Parish Fertilizer, Mildred Nagle Tax Service and was treasurer for the Village of Fairview in the early 1980s. She was active with McCall School in Canton in the 1950s. She was a former member of Belles of Harmony in Canton, Fairview Women’s Club and Fairview Home Extension.

Funeral services were held this morning at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Jay Curry and Rev. Larry Campbell officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
