Ralph L. Hunter, 80, of Macomb, died at 4:10 a.m. Monday, July 29, 1996, at Heartland Health Care Center.

He was born May 5, 1916, in McDonough County, a son of Harvey P. and Della Guy Hunter. He married Betty Gill on Dec. 28, 1941, in Macomb. She died May 1, 1986. Two brothers also preceded him in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. James (Barbara) Dosier, and one sister, Dorothy Hainline, both of Macomb; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A World War II Army Air Forces veteran, he was a member of Disabled American Veterans. He graduated from Western Illinois University and taught vocational agriculture at Blandinsville High School from 1946 to 1956 and at Vermont-Ipava-Table Grove High School from 1956-1976. He was a member of First Christian Church, McDonough County Farm Bureau and the Illinois Retired Teachers Association.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Abbott officiating. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery.
