Wanda Hamm

Wanda M. Hamm, 89, of Industry, died at 8:50 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 1996, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born Feb. 18, 1906, near Bushnell, the daughter of Ralph and Elsie (Decker) Whittier. She married Harold “Doc” Hamm Feb. 17, 1932, in Prairie City. He survives.

Also surviving are one brother, Edward Whittier of Bushnell and several nieces and nephews, including Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Sharon) Whittier of Industry who helped care for her for many years.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, William Whittier, John Whittier, and Fred Whittier and her parents.

Mrs. Hamm lived all of her life in McDonough County. She was reared in the Bardolph area but lived most of her life in the Industry area except for 10 years in Bushnell. She graduated from nurses training at Holmes Hospital in 1926 and worked as a nurse for several years. She was a member of the McDonough County Home Extension and a former member of the Industry Womens Club.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at Harris Cemetery at Table Grove with Marshall Litchfield officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Industry Fire Department.

Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb was in charge of arrangements.
