Elsie Herndon, 97, of Wesley Village Health Care Center at Macomb, formerly of Adair, died at 8:48 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, 1990, at the health care center.
She was born May 8, 1892, in New Salem Township, McDonough County, a daughter of Henry and Clara Snyder Coyner. She married Sterl Herndon on April 24, 1912, in Macomb. He died Sept. 10, 1965.
She also was preceded in death by one sister.
She resided in the Adair area all of her life before moving to Macomb in 1958. A former member of the United Methodist Church in Adair, she was a member of the Ladies Home Economics Club in Adair.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. this afternoon at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Rev. Arthur Runyon officiating. Burial will be in Pennington Point cemetery.
