VeteranDale Hackman Of Havana Dies

Dale Edward Hackman, 64, of Havana, died at 7:15 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 1990, in Havana.

He was born Sept. 14, 1925, in Mason County, the son of Arnold and Elslie (Bortell) Hackman.

Survivors include three sons, Paul of Havana, Terry of Pekin and Larry of Woodward, Okla.; three daughters, Penny Hackman of Bartonville, Peggy Hackman of Ipava and Carolyn Sue Hackman of Kilbourne; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three brothers, Vernon and Eugene, both of Havana, and Arnold of Utah; and one sister, Vera Howell of Decatur.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6408 in Havana. He worked in maintenance at Centel Telephone Co. for 15 years.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana with Rev. James Fedosuk officiating. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana, with military services by VFW Post 6408.
