VeteranPerry G. Heffner Of Industry Dies

Perry G. Heffner, 88, of Industry died at 9:25 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 1985, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb. He had been in poor health for several years.

He was born Feb. 17, 1896, near Macomb, a son of George and Sarah Barker Heffner. He was married Sept. 7, 1924, to Lucy Lance in Lewistown. She died Jan. 20, 1979.

Surviving are two sons, Bill and Bob Heffner, both of Industry; one daughter, Mrs. Leon (Betty) Hillyer of Springfield; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Heffner attended Shinn School near Table Grove, lived in Smithfield for several years, then moved back to Table Grove and to the Industry community in 1940. He had been a blacksmith and a farmer, was a member of American Legion Post 6 and veteran of World War I.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Clugston Chapel in Macomb with Marshall Litchfield officiating. Burial will be in Industry Cemetery. Visitation will be at Clugston Chapel anytime Wednesday until time of services. Family visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to McDonough District Hospital.
