VeteranRobert C. Hamilton Dies At Age 52

Robert C. Hamilton, 52, of 805 W. Pinehill Drive, Peoria, formerly of Canton, died at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 1980, in St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.

Born May 20, 1927, in Canton, a son of Victor and Elizabeth Henderson Hamilton, he married Betty L. Smith Nov. 26, 1950, in Astoria.

Surviving are his wife; his mother of Canton; two sons, David of Paloma, and Michael of Canton; one daughter, Mrs. Sandra Roudebush of Canton; two grandchildren; and one brother, Victor Jr. of Peoria.

His father, and his stepmother, Irma Van Liew Hamilton, preceded him in death.

He was a service manager for Miller Autobody in Canton, retiring in October 1979, when he moved to Peoria. He was a member of First Christian Church of Canton and an Army veteran of World War II.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the First Christian Church in Canton with Rev. Darrell Harrison officiating. Burial was in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Canton.
