William H. Hughes Dies At Age 76

William H. Hughes, 76, of Table Grove, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 1978, at the Americana Nursing Center of Macomb.

He was born Feb. 6, 1902, in Farmers Township, the son of Harry and Elma Locke Hughes. He married Twilla Kinnamon at Macomb on Sept. 7, 1925. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Billy Hughes of Macomb; one daughter, Mrs. Janice Vaughn of Table Grove; two brothers, Harry Hughes of Table Grove and Wayne Hughes of Douglas, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Wagle of Plantation, Fla., and Mrs. Dorothy Walters of Bushnell; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hughes formerly was water commissioner and postmaster at Table Grove. He was a labor foreman for Illinois state highways.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with burial in the Harris Cemetery near Table Grove. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Fund.

Visitation will be this evening at the Memorial Home.
