VeteranCharles Hamm Of Lewistown Dies

Charles Hamm, 81, of Lewistown died at 9:05 a.m. Sunday at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

He was born in Fulton County on Jan. 26, 1889, a son of Conrad and Eve Stremmel Hamm. He was married to Elizabeth Rood who died on Jan. 4, 1962.

Surviving are two brothers, William Hamm of Cuba and Elzie Hamm of Ipava, and one sister, Mrs. Cora Grisson of Galesburg.

Two brothers, five sisters, a half brother and a half sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rev. James McMillan officiating. Burial was in the Ipava Cemetery.

Mr. Hamm was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Ipava American Legion.
