Mrs. Zella Hammond, 73, a former resident of Ipava, died at 10:05 a.m. Sunday at Graham Hospital in Canton, after an illness of about two years.
Mrs. Hammond was born near Ipava, March 6, 1896, the daughter of William O. and Elizabeth J. (Robinson) Littleton. She was married Aug. 20, 1921, in Havana to Lee Hammond, who died March 13, 1931.
She was a retired practical nurse, who worked at Graham Hospital for several years.
Survivors include one step-son, Glenn Hammond, Ipava; one step-granddaughter, two step-grandchildren; her step-mother, Mrs. May Littleton, Vermont; her half sister, Mrs. Doris Dunblazier, Lewistown; and her step-brother, Melvin Brown, Phoenix, Ariz.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava, with Rev. Lee Reffett officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery.
