Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude M. Heckel, Vermont, who died Wednesday in Saunders Hospital, Avon, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Methodist church by the Rev. H. D. Simmons and Mrs. Dell Leach.
Born May 5, 1873 in Vermont a daughter of Benjamin and Hannah (Post) Crabtree, she was married to Lewis F. Heckel, who preceded her in death in 1940.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lee Childers, Prairie City, and a nephew, Rodney Crabtree of Vermont, whom she reared.
She was a member of the Vermont Methodist church, Harmony Rebekah lodge and American Legion Auxiliary.
