Death of Claude W. Hamm

IPAVA — Claude W. Hamm, formerly of Ipava and Canton, died August 8th in Hammond, Ind. He was a cousin of Wm. Hamm of near Ipava. Mr. Hamm was born Dec. 5, 1890, on a farm in Bernadotte township, a son of George and Hettie (McClelland) Hamm. The early part of his life was spent around Ipava and Canton. He was employed by the Canton C. I. P. S. company as an electrician until about 1930. Then he resided in Chicago, Gary, Ind., and Hammond, Ind. He was an active member of the Canton Moose lodge and a member of the Gary Presbyterian church.

Surviving are a son, Claude Jr., and two granddaughters, his mother, and three sisters, Mrs. Harley Zim, Mrs. Ward Austin and Mrs. Charles Haney; also three brothers, Clarence, Glenn and Earl Hamm.

Funeral services were held Thursday with burial in Hammond, Ind.

Among those attending from Ipava and vicinity were William Hamm and Wilma, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ladd, Mrs. Allan Deakin, Mr. and Mrs. Ray McAdams, Mr. and Mrs. Scott McAdams of Cuba.
