Mrs. Clarence Hickle Died Last Tuesday

Mrs. Clarence Hickle died at her home in the Pleasant Dale neighborhood Tuesday morning of last week, following a lingering illness. Death was due to Bright's disease.

Laura Atherton was born Sept. 3, 1866 on the farm where she spent her last days. She was aged 64 years, 10 months and 11 days.

The deceased was united in marriage to Clarence Hickle July 4, 1900 at the M. E. parsonage in Ipava. To this union was born one son, Theodore Hickle, who resides on a farm joining that where his mother lived. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Nichol of Orange, Calif., and Mrs. Ella Aten of Long Beach, Calif.

Mrs. Hickle united with the Pleasant Dale church when young in life and since lived a faithful conscientious Christian life. She was a lover of nature and enjoyed her home. She was a kind and affectionate wife and mother and enjoyed the friendship of her many friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the home conducted by Rev. W. H. Day, pastor of the Astoria M. E. church. Interment in Quaker cemetery.
